Responsibilities:
To ensure Cathay Pacific cargo sales and services policies and strategies achieve company revenue goals.
- To guide and monitor cargo sales staff in their daily activities to sell available cargo space to other Cathay Pacific destinations
- Plan, execute and control sales policies and procedures in the acceptance of onward shipments to maximize revenue sales
- Explore and tap all possible sources of revenue to secure high yield cargo
- Assess credit facilities of cargo agents
- Organize sales promotional activities, familiarization tours and sales blitz of cargo agents
- Maintain good relations with cargo agents, commercial accounts, interliners, and government officials related to cargo/mail business
- Monitors the movement of accountable documents
- Sees to it that all functions assigned to each staff are performed satisfactorily and services are rendered efficiently and in conformity with the company’s sets of standards
- Maintains a close supervision on the administrative and operational functions of the staff
- Handles formal claims on loss, damaged, and/or mishandled cargo
- Close supervision of daily collections
- Monitors daily office expenditures and ensures cost is within approved budget
- Sees to it the working atmosphere at the office is sufficient and apt for the staff to feel comfortable and well motivated
- Assess subordinate staff performance
- Commend good staff performance
- Reprimand poor staff performance or infractions
- Enroll staff in training courses
- If necessary, act as a reliever to staff on leave or on official business
- Cargo Manager is kept updated with any irregularity
